Community Scholarships

If you live in San Diego county in California, you may be able to take advantage of several Ashford University scholarships offered exclusively to you and applicable toward online degree programs.

All scholarship applicants must meet University admission requirements. To remain eligible while enrolled, scholarship recipients must maintain satisfactory academic progress (SAP) and remain continuously enrolled with the exception of approved breaks.

Homefront Heroes Scholarship

The Homefront Heroes Scholarship is awarded to five San Diego County military spouses annually and covers full tuition, learning materials, and the technology fee for any undergraduate online program at Ashford University. Those eligible must submit a scholarship application as well as two essays. The application period is open for eight weeks from September to November. See terms and conditions.

Promises2Kids Guardian Scholar Scholarship

The nationally recognized Guardian Scholars program, through Promises2Kids, is awarded annually to a former or current San Diego foster youth. It covers full tuition and learning materials as well as the technology fee for any undergraduate online program at Ashford University. See terms and conditions.

Teacher Appreciation Scholarship

The Teacher Appreciation Scholarship is awarded annually to four San Diego county teachers, covering full tuition, learning materials, and the technology fee to be applied toward an online Master's degree program in the College of Education (Master of Arts in Education or Master of Arts in Teaching and Learning with Technology). The application is open for three weeks in March, and recipients are honored during the San Diego Padres Teacher Appreciation Night at Petco Park in San Diego, CA. See terms and conditions.
