Transfer to Ashford

Be recognized for the work you’ve done. You may be eligible to transfer up to 90 approved credits toward your Bachelor's degree at Ashford University. You may be able to combine your previous coursework with up to 75 nontraditional credits to make the maximum transfer impact!

Community College
Ashford welcomes students who transfer from community college. An articulation agreement between your community college and Ashford University outlines certain courses that may be transferred for credit. Don’t worry – even if your community college doesn't have a signed articulation agreement with Ashford, our transfer policies may still apply to you.

Nontraditional Credit

CLEP 
Earn credit for what you already know through the College Level Examination Program (CLEP). Use these credits to satisfy requirements in your undergraduate program. Read more information about CLEP testing.

Berlitz Language Evaluation
Earn additional credits through the Berlitz Language Evaluation. By passing the Berlitz Language Evaluation, you may earn up to 18 approved credits toward a Bachelor’s degree, depending upon your level of language proficiency. Learn more about the Berlitz Language Evaluation.

Military Training
Your military training is of great value. You may be eligible to transfer up to 75 approved military credits to Ashford, where your military experience is honored. Ashford will request all college and military transcripts on your behalf. Find out more about military benefits.

Prior Learning Assessment
Convert your work and life experience into transfer credits. From formal and informal work training, continuing education programs, workshops, and other sources, earn credit by documenting that learning. You may be eligible to transfer up to 30 approved credits toward a Bachelor's degree or up to 15 approved credits toward an Associate's degree through Ashford University's PLA Center. Note: The transferability of credits is subject to Ashford University transfer credit policies, and requires the submission of official transcripts. The official transcripts will be evaluated to determine which credits will officially apply toward an Ashford University degree program.
