PROFESSIONAL AND LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT WORKSHOPS

Ashford University promotes learning and development beyond the boundaries of the classroom. Ashford partners with organizations with the same vision that are committed to providing greater educational opportunities to their employees.

One way Ashford helps these organizations accomplish their goals is by providing access to our Professional Development Team. Team members bring years of experience in executive coaching, presentation skills, public speaking, and corporate training. They share this knowledge through webinars and live presentations. Through these interactive sessions, our partners can empower their employees and teach the key business skills that they need to thrive in today's economy.

Ashford also understands the importance of building a community for our students and alumni based on support and growth. Networking and professional development events are hosted every month in cities where the majority of our student and alumni reside.

WORKSHOPS

Ashford's Professional Development team currently offers the following workshops:

Coffeehouse Collaboration: Fostering Creativity and Innovation through Teams

For centuries, the coffeehouse environment has inspired a new level of creativity among individuals, teams, and groups. Team collaboration is at the heart of everything we do organizationally. In this session, leaders will learn to create an environment that promotes healthy and robust collaboration sessions while utilizing new techniques and systems that will unleash innovative ideas and action!

Lead Yourself First: Mastering the Art of Self-Leadership

When people talk about the responsibilities of leadership, they almost always begin by thinking of the people under them, those they lead. The most powerful leaders know why they are, what they are passionate about, what they stand for, and most of all, they honor their word. This workshop will dive deep into the DNA of what it takes to be a leader that people want to follow and it all begins by taking a look within.

Decades: Generational Awareness to Foster Enhanced Workplace Communication and Synergy

As people are now both living longer and working longer, the multi-generational environment has become a new diversity challenge for organizations. This workshop will promote a new level of awareness regarding how various generations work and communicate differently based on their generational values. The audience will gain a better knowledge of customer needs, interactions, communication preferences, and work styles from different generational perspectives; this will produce greater workplace efficiency, improved morale, and enhanced workforce synergy. Participants will learn the types of workforce behaviors that foster employee engagement as well as the tools and practices needed to optimize interactions with members of each generational group.

Standing Room Only: Transforming Your Presentations with Story and Spontaneity!

In this workshop, we unleash the magic formula for creating and delivering a captivating, unforgettable message to your audience. You will learn brilliant transitions that will keep your audience in the palm of your hands throughout your entire presentation. And has fear ever held you back from delivering your best presentation? We round out this workshop by unveiling a new, innovative approach for quickly overcoming any fears that come with speaking to groups. Your presentations are guaranteed to never be the same! Get ready for that standing ovation!

You 2.0: Creating the Formula to Tap Into Your Greatest Potential

What's the formula for success in today's workplace? Many employees don't know the answer, much less know how to find it. This class will unveil the code for every person through fascinating research and novel ideas that will boost your personal well-being and purpose in the workplace. Learn the key elements that will provide you with the solution to tapping into your greatest potential.

Alive @ 5: Transforming a Chaotic Cluttered Day of Depletion, to a Clear, Controlled Day of Completion

Take full control of your day by learning tools to manage the choices that occupy your time. Uncover your time management “type” and bring awareness to your work style preference while learning the importance of renewal strategies that keep you energized throughout the day.

Critical Conflict: Resolving Workplace Conflict through the Art of Critical Thinking

How do you handle workplace interactions that are tense, strained, or difficult? Are you “Competitive”, “Accommodating”, or “Avoiding”? Research shows that we all have a particular behavioral “style” or approach when dealing with or managing conflict. In this workshop you will identify your own instinctive approach to conflict and examine the different ways individuals or teams show up in difficult situations. You will learn masterful critical thinking skills that will allow you to create distance from your point of view, so you can effectively manage and solve conflict in the workplace and in life!

Marketing You: Building your Brand with Passion and Purpose

Do you have the best job in the world? Studies show that only roughly 20% of people are fulfilled in their careers. This session creates a roadmap for you to reinvent yourself in order to create exciting, new opportunities in your career and life. By exploring how to develop, communicate, and package your brand, you will get a clear and insightful understanding of who you are, what you stand for, and what you want to be known for.
