Ashford University Men's Golf

2007-2008 Season

The 2007-08 Ashford University women's golf squad will have a different look than past years with six new players coming into second year head coach Dustin Bierman's program.

The Saints are expected to build off a strong third place finish in the conference last season, as they return two of their top four players - junior Lanna Bartko and senior Amber Heller who returns after a very successful season in which she recorded a top 10 finish in the conference and a top 20 finish in the region. These two returning players will be integral to the Saints' success as they help the incoming student-athletes in their transition to collegiate golf.

Newcomers to this season's squad include transfer Elizabeth Zaske from Rockford, Illinois who will enter Ashford as a junior. On the team may be the most talented freshman class in program history, including: Erica Clausen, Aledo, Illinois; Jordan Davis, Maquoketa, Iowa; Kelly Tenboer, Morrison, Illinois; Kasey Romano, Elgin, Illinois and Ashley Lawrence, Ames, Iowa.

"I am very excited and have extremely high hopes for this incoming recruiting class that includes five true freshmen," Bierman said. "I really feel like they will be the solid foundation of our ultimate goal of building a successful program within the conference and the region. I hope this team improves every tournament and achieves our goal of peaking at the conference and regional tournaments."

Bierman has put together a very challenging schedule for the young Saints, including nine tournaments with match ups against conference foes Waldorf College and St. Ambrose University which finished 1 and 2 in the conference last year, respectively. There are also some highly anticipated match ups with non-conference foes including Augustana College, Loras College, Wartburg College and Coe College.
