Dr. Valyncia Hill is an Assistant Professor in the College of Liberal Arts at Ashford University, where she is Chair of the Military Studies content area. She holds a Juris Doctor from California Western School of Law in San Diego, CA; a Master of Arts in Organizational Management from University of Phoenix; and a Bachelor of Science in Public Administration, Criminal Justice Administration from California State University Dominguez Hills. She was commissioned in to the United States Air Force through the Reserve Officer Training Corps at Loyola Marymount University. As an Officer in the United States Air Force Reserve, she serves as an Equal Opportunity Advisor. She is responsible for conducting human relations classes and advising the Wing Commander, key staff, and all subordinate unit commanders on equal opportunity and treatment and human relations issues affecting base personnel. Her favorite thing about teaching is helping students realize their full potential. “There is power in education,” she shares. “I enjoy the student-focused approach here at Ashford. You can see that everyone here really cares about student success.”
