Newton Miller, PhD
College of Education
Dr. Newton Miller is Undergraduate Department Chair and Program Chair of the Bachelor of Arts in Education Studies as well as the Bachelor of Arts in English Language Learner Studies in the College of Education at Ashford University. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics from Cheyney University, a Master of Science in Mathematics from Liberty University, a Master of Education in Educational Leadership from York College, and a Doctorate in Education Administration from Capella University. His professional experience includes having served as a secondary and college level mathematics instructor, secondary science teacher, assistant principal, principal, and educational consultant for a national education reform organization. The thrill to teach struck Dr. Miller in a unique way; “My dream job was to be a structural engineer until I stood in front of a classroom of knowledge-hungry, inner-city students. It was at that moment I knew my true purpose and career path was to be an educator.” Dr. Miller currently lives in San Diego, CA and feels honored to be allowed into learners’ lives and help facilitate their learning process.
