College of Education
Kathleen Kelley is a full-time Instructor in Ashford University’s College of Education, where she has taught since 2006. She holds a Master of Arts in Education (Administration) from Alliant University, a BA in Liberal Studies from San Diego State University, a Teaching Credential from California State University, San Marcos, and has started course work started for her Doctorate in Higher Education and the Adult Learner at Walden University. Prior to Ashford, she taught high school, middle school, and elementary school for 15 years. She has supervised student teachers at all grade levels for five years, and currently also teaches for University of North Carolina at Charlotte in the Department of Middle and Secondary Education. Her favorite thing about teaching is making that connection with a student and continuing that mentoring relationship as they progress through their program. “I love hearing from students after they move on. Watching one of my students cross the stage to get their diploma is priceless, and their continued success is inspiring!” As someone who has been a returning student herself more than once, she says she is proud knowing that Ashford’s core values have opened the doors for many who might not have had the opportunity to attend a traditional college. Mrs. Kelley is married with two sons and currently lives in Charlotte, NC by way of San Diego and the Midwest.
