Biography

“I want to inspire and embrace the opportunity for our future educators to learn, communicate, and grow in a boundary-less learning community."

Stephanie Heald is a full-time faculty member at Ashford University’s College of Education. She has a Master’s degree in Education and a BA in Elementary Education from the State University of New York at Oneonta, an AAS in Early Childhood Education from the State University of New York at Cobleskill, and a dual advanced certificate in Building and District Level Educational Leadership from St. John’s University, where she graduated Kappa Delta Pi. Her journey has since included classroom teaching, coaching teachers, facilitating professional development, leading district and countywide literacy initiatives, and instructing students in traditional and online courses. While moving to five different states in as many years, Stephanie immersed herself in the local schools in addition to connecting online with educators across the world. This immersion not only allowed her to meet new educators and see local efforts, but opened her eyes to the real need for a quality higher learning institute accessible to all. In 2008, she joined the Ashford team, where she has truly experienced the value and impact of this innovative learning environment by participating in online education as both a student and a teacher. “I want to inspire and embrace the opportunity for our future educators to learn, communicate, and grow in a boundary-less learning community.” One of her future goals includes obtaining a terminal degree exploring literacy practices in online learning communities. Ms. Heald is a mom of two boys as well as an avid professional reader; well-practiced shopper; and lover of the beach, Dallas Cowboys football, coffee, and surfing.
