Biography“I use a blended learning approach – lectures, PowerPoints, and videos – so that I can reach all learners’ styles."
Dr. Keith Pressey of Warner Robins, GA is a full-time faculty member in Ashford University’s College of Education, where he was previously an associate faculty member since 2009. He has a PhD in Professional Studies in Education, with an emphasis on Training and Performance Improvement from Capella University; a Master of Science in International Relations from Troy State University; a Bachelor of Arts in Human Resource Development from Hawaii Pacific University; and an Associate of Arts in Instructional Technology with the Community College of the Air Force. Dr. Pressey retired after 20 years in the Air Force as Master Sergeant (and honorary Chief Petty Officer with the Navy), where he performed as signals intelligence (SIGINT) analyst and SIGINT technical trainer. The latter role is where he found his niche for teaching. He says that the caliber of his colleagues and the diversity of the students help make teaching at Ashford especially enjoyable for him. “The job satisfaction I get from teaching for Ashford is neck and neck with the satisfaction I felt during 20 years wearing Air Force blues – and that’s saying quite a bit!” He believes that teaching in a virtual environment is a shared responsibility between teacher and learner, and he advises students to get engaged and stay engaged. “I use a blended learning approach – lectures, PowerPoints, and videos – so that I can reach all learners’ styles; by the same token, I expect a lot from my students as well.” Dr. Pressey has three sons and enjoys cycling, running, and traveling.
