Dr. Barbara Hall is an Assistant Professor in the College of Education at Ashford University, where her work centers on the Bachelor of Arts in Instructional Design degree program. She started with Ashford University in 2009 as a Teaching Assistant for Writing Services before becoming a full-time faculty member. She has 18 years of experience as an instructional designer, having designed, developed, and facilitated training and instruction in academic, corporate, and military settings. She says that her five years as an online learner contributed to her appreciation of peer collaboration as a key component of learning. “Ashford is a great place to teach because of the learner-centered focus on collaboration and application to each learner’s personal and professional work. Ashford builds a sense of community among the faculty as well as the learners.” Dr. Hall lives in Chapel Hill, NC, with her husband and four children.
