Dr. Gary Gentry is an Assistant Professor in the College of Business and Professional Studies at Ashford University. He obtained his Juris Doctorate in Corporate Law and Legal Ethics from the University of San Diego. Both his Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees are in History and his respective degrees are from Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville and Principia College. Dr. Gentry was admitted to the California State Bar in 1973. He practiced corporate law and business trial work full-time before moving into teaching 30 years ago. He still continues practicing law on a part-time basis. Besides Ashford, Dr. Gentry has held both administrative and instructive positions at Principia College, Western Governors University, DeVry University, and Argosy University. He is also the founder of Delarose Education LLC (a consulting firm working with organizations and businesses to develop online curriculum and training programs) and a Senior Partner in MarketComm LLC (a training company that enables businesses and individuals with intellectual property to develop customized learning institutes). Dr. Gentry has taught at Ashford since 2008. He primarily teaches business law and organizational behavior courses and occasionally instructs an undergrad history class. He says his favorite part of teaching is the students. “Being able to assist our students achieve their goals, and knowing that this Ashford education will provide enriched opportunities in their lives, is a reward that never stops giving.” Dr. Gentry lives in Eugene, OR with his wife Teryl. The couple has six adult children and a continually expanding set of grandchildren.
