Dr. Ray Powers is Chair of Marketing and Strategic Management at the Forbes School of Business at Ashford University. He holds a BS in Business from Arizona State University, an MBA with a specialization in Technology Management from the University of Phoenix, and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from the University of Phoenix. With nearly 40 years of corporate experience in business and technology, his responsibilities have ranged from technical and engineering roles to executive level positions. After a 30-year career within the Bell System, he went on to serve in C-level roles in several high tech enterprises focused on new and innovative technology development and deployment. Additionally, Dr. Powers has specialized in the area of mergers and acquisitions, leadership training, and in the discipline of project management. He served as the Director of Standards for the Project Management Institute and on their Board of Directors and has served as a senior executive in the field of Program Management in three major corporations. Additionally, Dr. Powers has a State of California Real Estate Broker’s license. His faculty experience includes serving as an adjunct professor for several universities, including Keller Graduate School of Management, The University of Phoenix, Chancellor University, International University for Graduate Studies, and National Graduate School. out teaching is when I get to see my students apply what they’ve learned in class to real world situations.”
