Dr. Leah Raby is an Assistant Professor with Ashford University, where she teaches courses in public administration. For both her undergraduate and graduate work, she attended Southern University Agriculture and Mechanical College in Baton Rouge, LA, obtaining a Bachelor of Arts in political science and a Master of Public Administration. She holds a PhD in public policy analysis, with a healthcare policy specialization, from the Nelson Mandela School of Public Policy and Urban Affairs at Southern University. Most of her career she has spent working for the Governor's Office, specifically the Louisiana Commission on Human Rights (LCHR). She has been employed by LCHR for almost 18 years, serving under the administration of four governors. There she has worked in several capacities, including as the Acting Executive Director, Assistant to the Executive Director, and Lead Investigator. For over eight years she has taught courses as an adjunct instructor for several online universities. To her students, she loves to say, “If you believe, you can achieve.” Dr. Raby loves teaching online because it allows her to be home with her husband and three very active children.
