Dr. Eric Oestmann is an Associate Professor and the Program Chair for the Bachelor of Arts in Health Care Administration in the College of Health, Human Services, and Science at Ashford University. He received his doctorate in health care administration and management from Capella University. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Composite Science from Black Hills State University and his Master’s degree in Physical Therapy from University of South Dakota. Dr. Oestmann began teaching in 1997 and has covered over 60 different classes, all related to healthcare. He started teaching at Ashford University in 2013. Dr. Oestmann comes to Ashford with a long career of working with people in a health and educational setting as a licensed physical therapist for over 20 years, continuing education speaker, and author of more than 40 articles and books. When asked why students should learn, he replies, “Remember challenges equal opportunities, and there are a lot of them for those with a solid educational foundation in health care management and great critical thinking and communication skills!”
