Heather Ann Auger is lead faculty in the Communication Arts department that is part of the Division of General Education at Ashford University. She earned her Associate’s degree in English literature from Chaffey College. She followed this degree with a Bachelor’s degree in English literature and a Master’s degree in English composition and rhetoric with an emphasis on English literature from CSU San Bernardino. She began teaching English composition in 2009 at Mt. San Jacinto Community College, both on the campus and online. Ms. Auger joined Ashford University in 2012 and loves how the University offers such a broad diversity of backgrounds and experiences. She has taught a variety of Ashford courses from English 121 Introduction to Composition to English 438 Literary Theory. In each class, she brings energy and enthusiasm, and advises her students to pay attention to details. “Become your own editor, and take the time to produce polished work you can be proud of. Treat each class like a job; schedule time each week for your work to avoid turning anything in late!” Ms. Auger resides in southern California with her husband, two children, two rescue dogs, and a variety of parakeets and aquarium animals. In her spare time she enjoys gardening and spending time with her family.
