Biography“Be open to different ideas, theories, people, and perspectives."
Dr. Joanna Savarese-Levine is an Assistant Professor at Ashford University, where she teaches in the Bachelor of Arts in Cognitive Studies program. She holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Clinical Psychology from California School of Professional Psychology. She has received formal training in the area of clinical neuropsychology and completed a 2-year post-doctoral fellowship at Sharp Memorial Hospital Rehabilitation Center in San Diego, CA. She has particular expertise in the assessment of the neurocognitive consequences associated with neurodegenerative diseases, stroke, and traumatic brain injuries. Additionally, she is passionate about brain-based learning, cognitive rehabilitation, and neurofeedback. Outside of academia, she also works as a statistical consultant. To her students, Dr. Savarese-Levine advises, “Be open to different ideas, theories, people, and perspectives.” She enjoys sewing, swimming, cycling, and spending time with her husband and four children.
