David Caspi, JD, PhD
College of Liberal Arts
Dr. David Caspi, who teaches law-related courses at Ashford University, attended law school after college and worked as an attorney for four years. Once he discovered his love for teaching when he began instructing law classes in the evenings, he returned to school to obtain his doctorate and began to teach at the college level in a traditional classroom. After moving to San Diego from New York in pursuit of a better climate and lifestyle, he became interested in technology and sought to teach at an online university; Ashford was the perfect fit. “I enjoy the opportunity to impact lives in a meaningful way. In particular, I enjoy teaching at Ashford University because the emphasis is on teaching and learning and the ability to maximize the educational experience for the students.” Dr. Caspi strives to show how the course material relates to real life consequences, and he believes in integrated learning, “in which each concept has broader implications for not only the criminal justice system and governments, but for society at large.” He advises students to learn how to think critically in order to get the most out of their education.
