He built on his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Business Administration by earning his PhD in Management of Information Systems at Claremont Graduate University in Claremont, CA. “I believe information technologies can change and redefine our higher education. Working at Ashford University is a great opportunity for me to participate in this momentum.” Dr. Byun teaches graduate courses dealing with technologies and their implications on people, organizations, and society in Ashford’s Master of Business Administration, Information Systems specialization. He believes that education should be fun but practical by always providing the purposes and goals of the knowledge, and he encourages students to be proactive. “Ask questions, contact instructors and peers, and make your own questions and answers regarding to the subject.” As someone who began his doctoral degree in his late 30s, Dr. Byun believes there is no late start in education. “Education is a never-ending journey. We need to learn though our lives. Be persistent in pursuing your goals.” Dr. Byun lives in San Diego with his wife and three children.
