Gina Shelley, PhD

Dr. Gina Shelley earned a Bachelor of Arts in English Education degree from Brigham Young University in Utah and then began teaching high school English. While teaching, she continued her studies and earned a Master’s degree in teaching English as a Second Language and her Doctorate degree in Educational Technology from the University of Utah. Dr. Shelley’s teaching career has included teaching both junior high and high school in a variety of areas. She has endorsements in English, ESL, Reading, Gifted and Talented Education, Spanish, and Library Media and has taught in each of these areas. Dr. Shelley joined the faculty at Ashford University in January 2011. She teaches courses in Secondary Education Methods, ESL, Linguistics, Elementary Arts, Technology, and Spanish. She loves teaching and believes that teachers have the power to inspire and encourage creativity and success in all their students!
