Nicholas Faella

“I am attaining first-hand knowledge of current business practices and trends from highly experienced faculty who bring real-world experience to the classroom.”
Having the right tools to help others is Nicholas Faella’s passion – which is why he wasted no time diving into the nursing profession after graduating from the Emily Griffith School of Nursing in 1977. Thirty-two years passed before Nicholas uncovered a new passion – helping others use technology.
While working at a nonprofit participating in the Digital Inclusion Initiative, this New Castle, PA resident was tasked to help senior citizens learn computer basics. The more he learned about computers, the more he felt the need to submerge himself in this new field. “I became quite fascinated with computer technology and decided to pursue my degree in order to learn more about it.”
Nicholas, 59, began looking for a school that could help him earn his degree while continuing to work. Ashford’s accreditation was enough to convince him to try the University’s online classes, but he really knew the school was for him when he experienced Ashford’s professors. “I am extremely happy that I chose Ashford because the quality of my education has been outstanding. Every course has had instructors who provided challenges to increase my knowledge.”
The feeling is mutual, as he has been on the Dean’s List each term, is on the Golden Key International Honour Society, and has been recognized by the Alpha Sigma Lambda Honor Society, which awarded him one of nine scholarships available for outstanding non-traditional students.
Nicholas plans to graduate from Ashford in 2013. “My plan after earning my degree is to open a business as a consultant for business information systems. I also plan to enroll in graduate school and earn my Master’s degree.” We wish Nicholas continued success in his endeavors.
