Dr. Devon Golem is the Chair of Ashford University’s Health Education as well as the Health and Wellness Bachelor of Arts programs. She earned her PhD in Nutrition Science and Exercise Science at Rutgers University, a credential as a registered dietician (RD) from Porterville Developmental Center and the Commission on Dietetic Registration, and a Bachelor of Science in Dietetics and Food Systems Management from California State University, Fresno. She has worked as a registered dietitian for nine years in various clinical and community settings, including as a certified massage therapist. She feels that Ashford’s online platform provides students from all walks of life the opportunity to obtain an education, adding, “Ashford University offers a unique atmosphere where students are prioritized above research and all other academic matters.” Her overall goal as a teacher is to help students become better learners and develop the skills that will enable them to succeed in their education, profession, and lives. “I aim to teach students to be aware of the resources available, to think conceptually, and to communicate well.” Dr. Golem lives in San Diego, CA with her fiancé Alex and her dog, Lunch Lady Doris.
