John Sellers, PhD
College of Business and Professional Studies
Dr. John Sellers is an Assistant Professor in Ashford University’s College of Business and Professional Studies, where he focuses on teaching courses in economics. He has a PhD in Economics from the University of Tennessee-Knoxville, and graduated from Metro State University with a BA in Economics and Colorado State University with an MA in Economics. Prior to Ashford, he taught Economics and Management both on-campus and online at Strayer University in Charlotte and also taught economics for American Public University online. As someone who finished college after several years in the workforce, he relates to the Ashford students who are striving to do the same. His favorite thing about teaching is making a difference in the lives of his students. “Ashford provides students with educational opportunities that they might not otherwise have if they had to attend a campus-based program. I like the fact that I can teach students who are working, have families, and can be almost anywhere in the world while still taking classes. The diversity of the student body is a great benefit.” Additionally, he says, “The people at Ashford are very professional and dedicated to providing the best possible education for their students.” Dr. Sellers lives in Longmont, CO near his wonderful children Nick and Sara, and with his dogs Blade and Gizmo, and Fuzz the Cat.
