Dr. Daniel L. Nation is an Assistant Professor in the College of Business and Professional Studies at Ashford University. He holds a Doctor of Management in Organizational Leadership from University of Phoenix; an Master of Aeronautical Science in Aviation/Aerospace Management and Aviation/Aerospace Safety from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Daytona Beach, FL; a BS in Management from California State University; and an AA in Electronics from College of the Desert in Palm Desert, CA. He is a former U.S. Marine Staff Sergeant, having served nine years on active duty, and retired as a Major after 12 years in the Air National Guard. He spent nearly 33 years in the aerospace industry as an engineer and manager, retiring from Lockheed Martin in 2010, and has taught graduate level university courses since 2002. Dr. Nation has experience as an adult learner and an instructor in both the traditional classroom and online. “After a long career in the military and aerospace industry working on military weapons systems and aircraft, I now get to help shape the most powerful weapon of all – the human mind. My association with Ashford University allows me to work with some of the finest graduate learners in the country.” He advises students to make a habit out of submitting assignments on time. Dr. Nation has lived in six states and currently lives in Fort Worth, TX. He has flown both general aviation aircraft and helicopters, driven racing cars really fast, and has travelled extensively around the country and the world.
