Celeste Barnette Campbell, EdD - Associate Dean
College of Education
Dr. Celeste Barnette Campbell, an Associate Dean in Ashford's College of Education, teaches mostly master’s level courses focusing on curriculum, instruction, and leadership. Her extensive professional experience in the field of education includes stints as a high school science teacher, director of student activities, assistant principal, and elementary school principal. She holds teaching credentials from UCSD and Cal State, San Marcos; a BA from Duke (a double major in Biology and Religion); a Master’s in Educational Leadership from University of San Diego; and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from UCLA (the latter of which she started when her son was 7 days old; he walked her across the stage to get her diploma wearing a cap and gown of his own when he was 3 years old!). She was attracted to the vibrancy and innovation of Ashford University, and feels that she has the best job in the world. “I love coming to work every day! Everyone deserves the opportunity to earn a high quality education, and Ashford makes this opportunity affordable and accessible to so many more people.” Dr. Campbell, a self-described Southern belle, grew up in North Carolina and now lives in Rancho Bernardo, CA with her two children.
