Biography

“My favorite thing about teaching at Ashford is knowing I am a part of a progressive and innovative team that strives to find the BEST methods for their students."

Dr. Amy Gray is an Assistant Professor in the College of Education at Ashford University. She holds a Doctor of Education in Teaching Innovations and Leadership from Arizona State University, a Master of Education in Professional Development from Heritage College, and Bachelor’s degrees in Elementary Education and Special Education from Central Washington University. Dr. Gray served as a high school special educator from 1998-2011, where she gained extensive experience with students who had learning disabilities and other health impairments. From 2011-2013 she served as Master Teacher in a TAP school district at a K-8 school. While there she specialized in teacher quality, instructional strategies, and professional development and their links to student achievement. She says, “My favorite thing about teaching at Ashford is knowing I am a part of a progressive and innovative team that strives to find the BEST methods for their students. I love watching the light bulb go on when people are learning. Knowing that I can impact one’s personal and professional growth is very gratifying. It is my passion to grow new teachers and to motivate veteran teachers to enhance their practice.” Originally from Washington, Dr. Gray has lived in Peoria, AZ since 2003. She is a mother to two human children, Haleigh and Jackson, and one canine child, Brodie (a white boxer).
