Dr. Jacquelyn Markham is an Associate Professor in the College of Liberal Arts at Ashford University. She received her Doctorate in American Literature and Creative Writing specializing in Poetry and her Master’s degree in Creative Writing from Florida State University. Her Bachelor of Arts in English and History is from University of Alabama. Dr. Markham has mentored countless writers, including non-native writers, in diverse academic and community settings and has taught at The University of Georgia, Georgia Southern University, Florida State University, and regional campuses of the University of South Carolina, among others. She has conducted workshops for state poetry societies and regional writing organizations as well as served as a humanities scholar in local libraries. Her poetry has been published in literary journals nationwide. She says, “I love to see students learn, grow, and be inspired. At Ashford, with a diverse student body of adult learners, I enjoy guiding my students through the empowerment process that is a result of learning. I am delighted to begin a new phase with Ashford and share my experience with students nationwide.”
