Biography"Helping students at Ashford believe in themselves and gain confidence as learners is the most satisfying part of my job."
Dr. Jeffrey Hall is an Associate Dean of the Entry Point & Social Science Department in the Division of General Education at Ashford University. The first person in his family to graduate from college, he earned his Bachelor’s degree in Business Education and spent the next 10 years in academic advising and teaching undergraduate courses at the University of South Florida, where he earned a Master’s degree in Instructional Technology and a Doctorate in Higher Education Leadership. In 2011, he moved to San Diego to begin instructing at Ashford, and he says the experience has been phenomenal. “Success in education has as much to do with attitude and motivation as it does with intelligence. Helping students at Ashford believe in themselves and gain confidence as learners is the most satisfying part of my job.” Because much of his teaching experience is centered on the concept of metacognition, Dr. Hall enjoys helping students achieve success through a thorough understanding of their thought processes, using reflective practice and critical thinking questions to help students find their own truth. He advises students to remember that education is more than checking off courses, but a time to learn, grow, challenge our beliefs, and clarify our thinking.
