“Every time I knock out a class it’s amazing.”
John Ashliman, a 35-year-old military police officer in the Air Force Security Forces based in Oceanside, CA, is earning his Bachelor of Arts in Applied Behavioral Science at Ashford University. “I love Ashford just because it fits into my daily routine,” he says.
His goal is to use his degree to get commissioned in the Army working with wounded warriors before eventually transitioning to the civilian side. “I have a lot of drive to help out the guys that have been mentally disabled due to the war,” he says, adding, “Ashford University is helping me obtain my goals that I want in the future.”
Earning a college degree still feels surreal in some ways to John, and he is very grateful for the opportunity to do so while serving our country. “I just never thought I’d ever get my degree, so every time I knock out a class it’s amazing.”
