“Ashford’s faculty is dedicated to helping students succeed inside and outside of the classroom.”

Kimberly Rogis’ decision to attend Ashford University was highly guided by an Ashford employee who came and spoke at her high school in Fulton, IL about the many benefits the University has to offer. It made for an attractive possibility since Ashford’s Clinton campus was close to home, but Kimberly, 21, was sold after being awarded the President’s Scholarship, which helped cover her financial costs. She is currently a senior pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Public Relations and Marketing and a minor in Business Administration, and she has been on the Dean’s list every semester since freshman year.

“I wasn’t sure I would enjoy going to a small university,” Kimberly says. “However, I believe it is easier to learn in a smaller classroom environment. Ashford’s faculty is dedicated to helping students succeed inside and outside of the classroom. They provide students with ample amount of opportunity to seek assistance for help. They’re very professional and approachable.”

Though a commuter student, Kimberly is actively involved on the Clinton campus. She is a peer mentor, as well as a member of the service learning advisory board, Phi Beta Lambda, Golden Key International Honour Society, and Ashford Junior-Senior Honor Society. She was nominated by Ashford’s faculty as one of the recipients of the Emerging Women Leader Award in 2013 from Women’s Connection. She’s also participated in service learning trips through Ashford – experiences that she says have altered her perspective on life.

Kimberly intends on graduating in spring 2014 and then plans to relocate to the suburbs of Chicago, IL. She enjoys meeting new people, traveling, and experiencing new cultures.

“I’m very happy I chose to attend Ashford University,” she says. “I’ve gained new friends, a higher education, and memories that will last a lifetime. It is a great place to grow as an individual and meet new people from across the globe.”
