Dr. Cheryl Harris is an Associate Professor in the College of Liberal Arts at Ashford University. She received her doctoral degree in Communications from the University of Massachusetts-Amherst and completed her Master’s degree in Video, Photography, and Cinematography and her Bachelor’s degree in Marketing and Political Science at Ohio State University. Before coming to Ashford, Dr. Harris taught at several universities and worked as a senior executive in the media and media research industries in both the United States and the United Kingdom. She is currently studying the impact of social media monitoring methodologies and software on communications processes. She says, “Students need instructors to connect the critical academic theories and models with real world applications and because of my industry and academic experience, I can do that here.”
