Dana A. Boyd, PhD

Dr. Dana Boyd is an Assistant Professor in the College of Liberal Arts at Ashford University. She holds a PhD in Organizational Behavior from Capella University, a Master’s degree in Science in Psychology, and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Armstrong State College. Dr. Boyd has been an entrepreneur and professor for over fifteen years. Her consulting and executive coaching services include team building, strategic planning, mergers, and acquisitions. She has taught adjunct courses for many universities in the United States and Australia and pursues research interests in the areas of positive psychology and online instructor burnout. At Ashford she teaches courses in industrial organization and adult development, among others. Dr. Boyd says, “Ashford’s mission, vision, and values align with my own. That’s why I originally started with them as an adjunct, and that’s why I did not hesitate to accept a full time position when it was offered. I know the standards at Ashford are - and will continue to be - very high.” Dr. Boyd advises students to persevere, never give up on their dreams, and surround themselves with positive people who care. She is married, child-free, and loves to cycle, paddleboard, and participate in any type of water activity.
