Justin Compton, PhDCollege of Liberal Arts
Dr. Justin Compton is an Assistant Professor in the College of Liberal Arts at Ashford University. He holds a PhD in Wildlife and Fisheries Sciences from Penn State University, a Master of Science in Biology from Michigan Technological University, and a Bachelor of Science in Wildlife, Fish, and Conservation Biology from the University of California. Dr. Compton has been in academics since 2007. His background is in Ecology and Environmental Sciences, having studied ecological systems in several states since 2000. He has also worked as a consultant. Dr. Compton’s favorite thing about teaching at Ashford is being able to reach non-traditional students that want to further their education. He says, “My teaching philosophy is to treat every student with respect and provide them with the tools necessary for success in the workplace. My experiences over the years have taught me that everyone has the ability to succeed if given the right opportunity.” When he’s not teaching, Dr. Compton enjoys fishing, astronomy, and spending time with his dog.
