Dr. Kelly Hudson is an Assistant Professor in the College of Liberal Arts at Ashford University. She holds a PhD in Psychology with an emphasis on Early Childhood Development from Saybrook University, a Master’s degree in Psychology/Marriage Family Therapy from Saybrook Graduate School and Research Center, and a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from University of Phoenix. Dr. Hudson has owned an in-home childcare/preschool since 1994. She began teaching at Ashford in October of 2010 and instructs courses in psychology and early childhood education. She says, “My favorite thing about teaching is the ability to support adult learners in their dream of receiving a higher education and in their personal and professional milestones. What I love about Ashford University is the camaraderie among all of the staff and faculty members, along with the support that is offered to each student as a team. It is a group effort in making sure that each student leaves feeling successful.” Dr. Hudson has also been the Chair for the American Cancer Society’s Night of Hope Gala since 2010, which helps in raising funds for fighting cancer through research, prevention, and patient services. She lives in the Seattle area and her hobbies include singing, cross-stitching, dancing Zumba, traveling, wine tasting, and spending time with family and friends. She also enjoys competing in 5K races and says, “Even though I run them rather slowly, at least I finish!”
