Dr. Rick Ansoff is an Assistant Professor in the College of Education at Ashford University. He received his PhD in Psychology and Statistics and his Master’s degree in Psychology from Georgetown University. Graduating Cum Laude, he earned his Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from United States International University (now known as Alliant International University). Dr. Ansoff has been teaching since 1998, has mentored hundreds of dissertation students, and has served on several institutional review boards. At Ashford he teaches in the Master of Arts in Education program and is Chair of the University’s Institutional Review Board. He has been a full time faculty member since November 2012 and commends Ashford for its commitment to establishing online education of the highest quality. He says, “I get a thrill when students realize that seemingly complex ideas are actually based on simple underlying principles.” Dr. Ansoff encourages students to read the directions of each and every assignment they are given, even if they think they already know what is expected of them. He points out that this will save time in the long run and gain the student points in their evaluations. He also advises, “Read the faculty guidance material. Professors often provide deeper and clearer explanations than those found in the textbooks. “ Dr. Ansoff enjoys walking, swimming, browsing the Internet, investing, and listening to shortwave radio and classical music. He has two adopted cats from The Rescue House Organization - Oreo and Iris.
