Dr. Michelle Rosser is an Assistant Professor and the Program Chair for the Bachelor of Arts in Psychology in the College of Health, Human Services, and Science at Ashford University. She obtained her PhD in Educational Psychology with emphasis in Online Learning and Diversity from the University of Oklahoma, her Master’s degree in 1999 from West Texas A&M University, and her Bachelor’s degree in Art from the University of Oklahoma. Dr. Rosser taught high school for almost a decade before pursuing her PhD. After earning it, she instructed, researched, and consulted for online learning programs for several years before coming on as a faculty member with Ashford.
For the past several years, she has been working and researching in both educational and organizational psychology. Her research interests include leadership development, online learning, and motivation. As a scholar, Dr. Rosser has published in both national and international peer-reviewed journals, and is co-author of an educational leadership development text, Becoming an Integrated Educational Leader. She is a member of the American Educational Research Association, the Asian Research Consortium, and The National Consortium for Instruction and Cognition, and she maintains activity on the editorial boards for International Journal of the Academy of Organizational Behavior Management (IAOBM) and the International Journal of Research in Organizational Behavior and Human Resource Management (IOBHM).
Dr. Rosser encourages her students to be tenacious and dedicated. She says, “My goal is to provide exceptional learning experiences for my students, as well as prepare them in their future careers. My favorite part of teaching at Ashford is participating in a profession that gives people opportunities to change their lives.” Dr. Rosser has two children and lives in western Oklahoma.
Dr. Michelle Rosser, Assistant Professor in the College of Health, Human Services, and Science, has a book, Becoming an Integrated Educational Leader, being published by Peter Lang of New York and is due to go to press in December 2013.
