February 8, 2012 – Jason Landry, a senior guard on Ashford University's men’s basketball team, has been nominated for the "Dark Horse Dunker" competition for under-the-radar players who have what it takes to compete against the Division-I field during Final Four weekend. The winner will participate in the Denny's Slam Dunk Competition at the State Farm College Slam Dunk & 3-Point Championships in New Orleans March 29 on ESPN.

Sixteen dunkers have been selected to compete in the "Dark Horse Dunker" Facebook bracket, a four-week knockout competition. Fans will determine the winner by voting during each round at the official Facebook page (facebook.com/collegeslam).

Landry, a 6'2" guard from Milwaukee, WI, is averaging 12.5 points and 6.5 rebounds per game for the Saints this season. He has thrown down big dunks in many games and needs help from fans and friends in order to compete among the nation's top dunkers in the March 29 competition.

The senior is facing-off against Arkansas Pine-Bluff's Savalace Townsend in round one. Voting for round one is open until Monday, Feb. 13 and is located on the official College Slam Facebook page, (Facebook.com/collegeslam).
