April 28, 2012 - As we are certain you are aware, we are experiencing severe weather in Clinton, Iowa. Unfortunately, during the storm last night, the commencement stage collapsed and the field has been deemed hazardous, due to risks associated with high winds and debris. Based upon the unexpected conditions, and in consideration for the safety of our graduates and our guests, regrettably, it is necessary to cancel the commencement exercises at the South Campus Athletics Complex scheduled for Saturday, April 28 2012.

While we understand the disappointment associated with this news, we will do everything possible to provide you with a positive and memorable experience to culminate your educational journey at Ashford University. Our University President and Provost will be in Kehl Arena on the North Campus from 8:30am to 1:30pm so that you may cross the stage and pose for a commencement photo. Our bookstore will be open and tours will be available throughout the day from 8:30am to 7:00pm. An open house reception for graduates and their guests will be held from 2:00pm to 5:00pm in Kehl Arena, as well.

Shuttles will transport you to and from the primary parking lot as well as the ADA parking lot from 8:30am to 7:00pm. Parking will not be available on our North Campus, so please use our shuttle services. Reference your graduation materials for the location of the primary lot.

In addition, anyone scheduled to graduate today is invited to participate in the commencement ceremony currently scheduled to be held tomorrow, Sunday, April 29, 2012 at 11:00am CDT at our South Campus Athletics Complex. It is not necessary for you to contact us concerning participation in the ceremony on Sunday. We will be prepared to accommodate anyone who chooses to participate. Follow the same instructions you received for the Saturday ceremony. Should plans change for Sunday, you will be notified in the same manner as today.

Please feel free to contact us at graduation.information@ashford.edu if you have questions or concerns and we will do our best to respond to you as quickly as possible.
