AU Introduces New Bachelor's Degree Program

Ashford University continues to support the men and women who serve our country by offering two educational grant programs: the Military Tuition Grant and the Veteran’s Tuition Grant.  Both grants cover a substantial portion of the costs associated with pursuing a college education through Ashford University – from the application fee to the online technology fees and textbooks.

“When we established Ashford’s military division in 2008, we designed our program with four key components in mind: affordability, transferability, accreditation and admissibility,” said KC Haight, associate vice president of military and corporate development for Ashford University.  “We call it the AU advantage.”

Ashford University provides education benefits to all qualifying members of the military community.  Eligible students include active-duty Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force and Coast Guard, as well as National Guard members and Reservists. Spouses of active duty, National Guard members and Reservists are also eligible in addition to veterans or retirees who are utilizing VA education benefits, dependents who are utilizing survivor benefits, and Department of Defense employees.

“An education is the single greatest resource we can provide our men and women in uniform, and that includes providing these individuals with the additional support they need to pursue and succeed in their academic goals,” added Haight.

For example, students who qualify for military tuition assistance may receive up to $4,500 per year, which covers the cost of six Ashford University online undergraduate courses.  The Ashford University military tuition grant also includes the cost of the application and technology fees, and all required textbooks – at the graduate and undergraduate level – as well as standard shipping costs.

Ashford University has been selected as one of the Military Advanced Education Magazine's Top Colleges and Universities, a distinction that places Ashford University among the most military-friendly colleges in the nation.

Based in Clinton, Iowa, Ashford University provides on-campus and online graduate and undergraduate degree programs.  More than 99 percent of Ashford students are earning their degrees online.  For information about all Ashford University programs, visit http://www.ashford.edu or call 858.513.9240.
