Ashford University has announced a new partnership with Pikes Peak Community College, headquartered in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Through the partnership, Pikes Peak Community College students will now be able to transfer up to 99 units into one of Ashford’s online and campus bachelor’s degree programs.
“What a wonderful arrangement this is for students of both Ashford University and Pikes Peak Community College,” said David Vande Pol, senior director of academic partnerships for Ashford University. “At Ashford, we seek to provide all students across the nation with affordable, high-quality learning opportunities. Now, Pikes Peak students who are interested in pursuing a four-year degree program will have ready access to Ashford’s undergraduate degree programs, expanding their academic options and chances for collegiate success.”
Pikes Peak is a two-year college offering associate's degrees and various certifications in a number of career-related and technical fields. Originally named El Paso Community College, Pikes Peak Community College began operating in 1968. Forty years later, and now more than 125 programs strong, Pikes Peak Community College maintains four geographically unique campuses in Colorado in addition to three military sites.
“Pikes Peak has a long-established student body, with current enrollment at about 12,000 students per semester,” said Wayne Artis, Pikes Peak Community College’s assistant to the vice president of educational services for articulation, transfer and teacher preparation. “We have a diverse student population, with a high concentration of military students and many others taking classes online. This articulation agreement is especially beneficial for our Web-based students in that it provides them with another option to continue their education online,” he said.
To date, Ashford University has 29 articulation agreements representing 105 colleges.
