Stephanie L. Anderson, PhD

Dr. Stephanie L. Anderson is an Associate Professor in the School of Health, Human Service, and Science at Ashford University. She earned both her MA and PhD in Social Psychology from the University of Kansas, where she specialized in cultural psychology with a research focus on the cultural grounding of personal relationships and the importance of attraction. She also holds a Bachelor’s degree in psychology and sociology (with a minor in Spanish) from University of Nebraska at Kearney (UNK). Dr. Anderson taught at Central Community College in Hastings, NE for 6 years and at UNK for 1 year prior to joining Ashford. She says her favorite thing about teaching is seeing students get excited, and she encourages them to push themselves to actively explore, discover, and grow from what they’re their learning in the coursework. “I am passionate about education,” she says. “Sharing my love for learning is extremely rewarding.” Dr. Anderson lives in rural central Nebraska with her young son, Wyatt Gunnar.
