Biography

"I hope I bring some of that love for learning into my classroom."

Dr. Young Yoo is an Assistant Professor in the College of Health, Human Services, and Science at Ashford University. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Oberlin College and a PhD in Cell and Molecular Biology from Northwestern University. Dr. Yoo taught Biology at St. Olaf College in 2003, then worked as a science writer in Chicago, IL until 2010. She returned to teaching in 2011, and now instructs courses in Anatomy and Physiology, Scientific and Technical Writing, and Race and Gender in Science. She says, “I was first inspired to teach by my own college professors. I hope I bring some of that love for learning into my classroom. I love seeing students’ faces light up when they finally get a concept after struggling with it.” Dr. Yoo encourages her students to seek out extra help from her if they ever need it.
