Degree Focus

There is an increasing need for health professionals due to health care reform and an aging and multicultural population. The Bachelor of Arts in Health and Wellness explores the dimensions of health and wellness and their relationship to health status and disease and injury prevention. Through a holistic perspective, you study the implications of positive and negative health practices impacting physical, social, occupational, emotional, intellectual, spiritual, and environmental health. You will examine major health risks and diseases affecting contemporary society, and explore the principal ways to promote health and wellness through lifestyle and behavioral change throughout the lifespan.

When you complete your Bachelor of Arts in Health and Wellness degree, you will be prepared for a career in which a broad background in healthy lifestyle behavioral counseling is a must. This generalist degree prepares you for a wide array of non-clinical, non-managerial positions.
