David Stedwell, MA

One of Ashford University's most senior faculty is David Stedwell, Associate Professor of Graphic Communications. In fact, Stedwell's tenure actually stretches back before the school's name changed to Ashford. "My first involvement at Mount St. Clare {Ashford's predecessor} was in the development of the online Master's Degree program for education: Teaching and Learning with Technology," he explains. "I worked with curriculum development, and I taught two courses in the original offering."
Since then, Stedwell has seen the university evolve into today's Ashford University, and the classes he first initiated now make up the Master of Arts in Teaching and Learning with Technology online program.
As an educator, Stedwell brings over 30 years' experience in journalism, mass media, and computer graphics expertise. What does he love so much graphic design? "I stress to my students: It is not about you. It's about the client, and ultimately the end-user." This selfless approach to service has motivated and inspired him all along his career. And that makes Ashford the perfect school in which to teach.
"My teaching at Ashford is my professional and personal passion. I leave campus each day knowing that I have made a positive difference in someone's life."
