Financial Aid Plan
Financial Aid is provided through the Federal Pell, SEOG Grant Programs and/or the Federal Family Educational Loan Programs (Stafford Subsidized, Stafford Unsubsidized, and PLUS Loans).
Students seeking federal financial aid benefits must be admitted to a financial aid eligible degree or certificate program in order to determine financial aid eligibility. To select this Plan as your primary finance option, at least 50% of your annual tuition must be funded through federal financial aid. In order for Ashford University to determine the student's eligibility, the following conditions must be met:
- Complete the Admissions Application.
- Complete a financial aid orientation.
- Complete an Entrance Interview Form.
- Completed all required financial aid applications and submit all required documentation.
- Pay all applicable fees.
All initial financial aid documents are required to be submitted and approved prior to the completion of a student's first course. If a student fails to supply the documents, is ineligible or otherwise unable to qualify for federal financial aid, the student will be responsible for any outstanding balance incurred and will be required to select a different primary finance option.
All students must re-apply for funding every academic year on this plan. Ninety days before the next academic year begins, students are required to initiate and complete the reapplication process. It is imperative for students to reapply for future loans or grants early to ensure that course scheduling is not interrupted.
For more information related to these financial options, please refer to the Financial Aid section on this site or in the current school catalog.
Ashford University will work with any lender participating in the Title IV Federal Loan Programs a student wishes to provide. Ashford University and its staff do not accept remuneration or compensation from any institution providing loans to its students.
Ashford University provides a convenient online application process for completing your financial aid. This process includes all required financial aid forms, options for electronically signing your applications and links to complete the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) and Master Promissory Note for loans.
