The Constellation Team

The Constellation team is as unique as the product. We’re a powerful blend of hard work and talent, intellectual curiosity and creativity, art and science. Constellation is a joint effort between the developers who fine tune and advance the platform, and the editorial team members who lead the vision for Constellation’s content creation process.

The Editorial Team

The editorial team hires qualified authors to write texts for Ashford University courses. This group leads the artful process of turning a rough draft into a finished work – ultimately delivering content that is academically sound, tailored to course objectives, and at the appropriate level of depth and difficulty. Editorial team members are not grammar experts, nor do they carry red pens. Their mission is challenging and succinct: to provide engaging, innovative, and high-quality learning materials to Ashford University students and faculty. They do this by managing authors, contributors, copyeditors and others who create superior learning materials. The team consists of: Sponsoring Editors who recruit and hire qualified authors to write the books; Development Editors who work with authors to develop the materials in line with course objectives; Assistant Editors who manage permissions and the creation of supplements; and Editorial Assistants who send the textbook drafts out for peer review and handle the team’s administrative needs.

The Development Team

The development team creates the intricate code and architecture behind the Constellation platform. The members of this team leverage evolving technologies to translate the vision for the product into a real-life platform with everyday utility. Development team members work closely with dynamic software that provides a fluid, digital journey through learning materials. The development team is responsible for delivering the best tools to make a truly efficient educational experience. The team consists of: architects who ensure the stability and collaboration of systems; developers who create many lines of code and overcome technical challenges; web designers who build the user interface; quality assurance heads who ensure product excellence; and project managers who help keep the whole group on track. Information Technology members also play an integral role – ensuring proper hardware support and system efficiency. The development team succeeds through constant collaboration – pushing their creative and technical expertise to the edge to ensure a Best in Class product for all.
