Flavian Achievement Center
Ashford's Flavian Achievement Center is named for Sister Flavian Launderville, OSF, who taught for many years in Clinton's Catholic schools. Sister Flavian was renowned for giving students individual attention in those areas of study where they experienced difficulty. The Flavian Center seeks to further her work.
The Center is committed to helping learners of all ability levels achieve and maintain the academic competencies that form the core of post-secondary education. The general education requirements at Ashford cover a wide range of disciplines, and you may need help somewhere along the line.
You are invited to come to the Flavian Center for:
- Individual tutoring
- Group study
- Participation in competency-based activities suggested by the academic departments
These free services are provided by professional staff and peer tutors who have demonstrated excellence in the basic competencies, as well as a variety of content areas.
In addition to tutoring, the Flavian Center plays a role in a variety of testing activities. Many instructors use the Center for make-up testing if you miss a test for an acceptable reason. The Flavian Center is also involved with placement and competency testing. If you have questions about these tests, please contact the Flavian Center staff at firstname.lastname@example.org.
You can access tutoring services at the Flavian Center by appointment or on a drop-in basis. Testing is by appointment only. The Center is open from 8 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday.
