Ashford University and American River College Form Partnership Agreement

Ashford University (AU) is pleased to announce its most recent partnership and agreement with American River College (ARC), located in Sacramento, California. Through the partnership, thousands of students at ARC will be able to transfer into one of Ashford’s acclaimed bachelor’s programs.

Students in the school can earn a bachelor’s degree, while enjoying Ashford’s low tuition rate and transfer policy which allows the transfer of 90 community college credits.

“We are honored to partner with ARC and look forward to the relationship between our schools and to helping ARC students earn their bachelor’s degrees through Ashford University,” said David Vande Pol, Senior Director of Academic Partnerships for Ashford University. “One of our university’s founding principles is to make higher education accessible, particularly to working adults, and that’s a commitment that American River College shares with Ashford.”

American River’s articulation agreement with AU enables students, who opt to transfer, guaranteed admission and the ability to carry the credits they have already earned.  The agreement is available to American River students who graduate with any academic degree or certificate and opt to continue their education with Ashford.

“Learning is a lifelong process, and we take that to heart at American River College,” said ARC President David Viar. “So if it’s a university transfer our students seek, then we want to make those opportunities available. We’re excited about our new partnership with Ashford University because Ashford is a quality institution that will provide our transfer students with yet another avenue toward meeting their goals of earning a bachelor’s degree.”

All applicable credits earned from American River College in all programs will be accepted and applied to the appropriate Ashford University degrees. This includes all applicable credits from technical and vocational courses.

“We’re excited to provide baccalaureate-seeking American River students with this opportunity to earn their degrees through our partnership,” added Vande Pol. “This unique collaboration opens the door for many who have long wanted to obtain a bachelor’s degree but could only do so in a cost-effective and convenient manner.”

To date, Ashford University has 20 articulation agreements representing 43 colleges.
