Ashford University Named a Top School in the 2016 Military Advanced Education & Transition Guide to Top Colleges & Universities
Ashford cited for exhibiting best practices in military and veteran education
Military Advanced Education & Transition (MAE&T) has selected Ashford University as one of the top schools in the 2016 MAE&T Guide to Top Colleges & Universities research study. The guide is a comprehensive research tool that was created to help members of the U.S. armed services and veterans evaluate their options for higher education.
To be included in the 2016 MAE&T Guide to Top Colleges & Universities, institutions had to complete a comprehensive questionnaire regarding the school’s military support policies. More than 600 institutions participated in the survey, including state colleges, community colleges, public schools, and private schools. All institutions were rated on key criteria that are important to military students: military culture, financial assistance, flexibility, general support, online support, and on-campus support. This was the ninth year that MAE&T has published its annual Guide to Top Colleges & Universities.
Ashford’s designation as a “Top School” in the survey was based on its military-friendly culture and policies. The University participates in such military-focused programs as the VA Yellow Ribbon program, the President’s Principles of Excellence program, the Eight Keys to Veteran Success program, and the Servicemembers Opportunity Colleges Degree Network program. Ashford University is also a signatory of the Department of Defense Voluntary Education Partnership Memorandum of Understanding. In addition, Ashford provides military education benefits to all eligible service members and their spouses. The University’s military grant also waives technology fees and pays for e-books for qualified military students.
