Ashford University offers Five Full Tuition Scholarships to Military Spouse
Ashford University has teamed up with Cox Communications to present a new scholarship program aimed specifically at offering scholarship opportunities to the spouses of military service members. The Ashford University Homefront Heroes Presented by Cox Communications program will provide five military spouses with full tuition scholarships to earn a college degree at Ashford.
“Military spouses play such an important role in maintaining the morale of our troops stationed here and abroad,” said Ashford University president Jane McAuliffe. “They are truly the homefront heroes and we are pleased to offer these scholarships to show our support for everything military spouses do for our troops.”
The Homefront Heroes scholarships are available to spouses of active duty military, Department of Defense employees, members of the National Guard or Reserves, as well as spouses using survivor benefits and spouses of veterans using veteran benefits. Applicants must be at least 22 years old and reside in San Diego County at the time of application.
The application for the Ashford University Homefront Heroes scholarship can be accessed online at www.AshfordHomefrontHeroes.com. All applicants must complete two essays explaining how their experiences as a military spouse have influenced education and career goals and how a degree from Ashford will help them achieve their goals. Applications will be accepted through November 21, 2010.
Once the application process has closed, a team from Ashford University will review all completed applications to select the five winning applicants. Winners will be announced by December 17, 2010.
