Voting Open for Second Round of College Slam Dunk championship; Landry Advances to Elite Eight
Round two voting open now until February 20 at Facebook.com/collegeslam
Ashford University's senior guard Jason Landry won his round one match in the "Dark Horse Dunker" competition and has moved on to round two. "Dark Horse Dunker" nominees are under-the-radar players who have what it takes to compete against the Division-I field during Final Four weekend. The winner will participate in the Denny's Slam Dunk Competition at the State Farm College Slam Dunk & 3-Point Championships in New Orleans March 29 on ESPN.
Sixteen dunkers were selected to compete in the "Dark Horse Dunker" Facebook bracket, a four-week knockout competition. Fans will determine the winner by voting during each round at the official Facebook page (facebook.com/collegeslam).
Landry is a 6'2" high-flyer who soars above defenders. He is a fearless and ferocious dunker who makes defenders think twice about going for the block. After defeating the University of Arkansas Pine-Bluff's Savalace Townsend in round one, Landry will face-off against David Kyles of Wichita State University. Voting for round two ends Monday, Feb. 20 at 1 p.m. ET.
